The eighth webinar in the Tackling Cholesterol Together education programme ‘Statin hesitancy, health investment and benefits over time’ will be held on Wednesday 19th January 2022 from 1:00pm.
Dr Derek Connolly, Professor Terry McCormack and Professor Handrean Soran will discuss statin hesitancy, suspected statin intolerance and how to frame lipid lowering therapy as a long term health investment.
Prof Terry McCormack: General Practitioner and Honorary Professor in the Institute of Clinical and Applied Health Research, Hull York Medical School. His main research interest is primary care cardiovascular prevention medicine
Dr Derek Connolly: Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Birmingham City & Sandwell Hospitals
Director of Research & Development, Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust
Honorary Senior Lecturer, Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of Birmingham
Prof Handrean Soran: Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist, Manchester Foundation Trust, with a specialist interest in lipidology, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular risk, parathyroid, calcium and bone metabolism. He provides a tertiary centre service for lipoprotein disorders, as well as calcium and metabolic bone diseases.
