Event Details

*Please note, this is a four-day workshop from Tuesday 28th June – Friday 1st July*

In June 2022, we will host the 5th Newcastle International Therapeutic Tolerance Workshop, a four-day event that brings together leaders in therapeutic tolerance from across the globe. These events have been held every four years since 2005, with a one-year hiatus in 2021 due to Covid-19. The event will be held at The Catalyst, Science Square, Newcastle Helix, Newcastle NE4 5TG.

The event will be of interest to academia and industry colleagues (pharma and SME), who have an interest in immune therapies, particularly in the context of immune ‘reset’.

Professor John Isaacs, Associate Medical Director for Research at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of the NHIP Research Innovation Strategy Group, said:

“These extremely popular events focus on advances at the cutting edge of clinical therapeutic tolerance strategies and it’s amazing to see the progress that has happened since 2005, in particular the number of SME’s and pharma companies that now have products ready for testing in the clinic.

“We limit the number of attendees at our workshops to ensure their informality. As well as short talks, we feature keynote lectures, light-hearted debates, posters, poster presentations and lots of discussion time. There is also a busy social programme, ensuring opportunities for informal interactions outwith the workshop itself – many fruitful collaborations have arisen over the years from previous events.

“This year we will be hosting our workshop in Newcastle University’s state of the art Catalyst building. As ever, we have a fantastic international faculty lined up for you, and I look forward to welcoming the usual mix of academic and industry colleagues, students and early career researchers, old friends and new.  I look forward to seeing you all in Newcastle in June.”
