Helen has spent all of her career in the NHS. She is a registered pharmacist with extensive experience in both secondary and primary care pharmacy, as well as medicines information services.
She started her career in a variety of posts in hospitals in Nottingham before moving to the North East in 1996 where she initially worked at the Regional Drug and Therapeutics Centre before moving to primary care pharmacy in 2005.
Helen also works for NECS Medicines Optimisation team providing pharmaceutical advice and consultancy services to a range of commissioning organisations and medicines support services within GP practices. In her role as AHSN Medicines Optimisation Workstream Lead, Helen heads a small team with oversight of a range of innovative projects aimed at improving patient outcomes by optimising the ways that medicines are used within the NHS.
